After over a decade of exclusively broadcasting my shows on the UK's award winning FIRE Radio it's time to move on. Sadly, this amazing little radio station has been taken over by the radio group Celador, who are taking the station mainstream and even out of the area it's meant to serve! This means there's no room for specialist content, including your Friday Night House Session!
I began on FIRE by being interviewed as a local music producer, which then immediately lead to an invitation to produce a special show for Saturday night's to replace the Ministry Of Sound show! The Mixbuster became a legendary show on FIRE. I was then asked to host my own show every Tuesday night, giving me a chance to play my own releases as well as interview industry friends and superstar artists/DJs. The show was then moved to Friday night's to "kickstart the FIRE weekend"!
It's been an absolute pleasure to be involved with all of the FIRE team over my time. So many talented people have worked on that station and it's truly brilliant to see so many out in radio-land and within the music industry, who began their careers buried in the basement of the Quadrant, or in the rafters of the Old Picture House.
FIRE is a dying breed and quite possibly it is the end for the station that Bournemouth loves so much. I wish all my colleagues well with their new endeavours and say a massive thank you to anyone who listened to my shows. Perhaps you'll want to come with me as I move the House Session to multiple FM and digital radio stations around the world.
Si :-)
