Tonight's radio show is going to be a battle.  Not on the pitch in South Africa, but here in Fire Radio land!  I'm going to be battling for listeners tonight as England take on Algeria in the World Cup. However, they'll be doing it without buttery-fingered Robert Green.  Poor bloke!  So, in honour of a keeper who is clearly gonna have to live with his slip up forever, every track tonight is dedicated to him.  After all, he's got plenty of time to listen to the show tonight!

(Producer/ rising presenter) Jonny’s “Salmon and Sweet Potato with Rocket”

Ingredients:

1 x Salmon fillet (with scales)
1 x Sweet potato
Rocket leaves
Half a lemon
Thyme
Pinch of rock salt (crushed)
Cajun spices
Teaspoon of balsamic vinegar
Chilli infused oil
Black pepper

Prep time: 5 mins
Cooking time: 10-15 mins

How to cook:

1. Pre-heat the oven to 200 degrees
2. Peel and thinly slice the sweet potato
3. Put potato slice into a bowl and add chilli oil, vinegar and as much Cajun as you want (depending on how spicy you want it)
4. Mix together in bowl with a spoon until all slices are covered and slightly dark in colour
5. Lay out on foil on oven tray and put into oven
6. Pre-heat a grill pan brushed with chilli oil
7. Scale side down sprinkle top of salmon with thyme, crushed rock salt
8. Scale side up sprinkle with pepper and salt
9. Add to pan and cook each side for 1 min
10. Then put on low heat and cook each side for 5-7 mins
11. Whilst salmon is cooking wash rocket leaves and mix in a bowl with a black pepper and a squeeze of a quarter lemon
12. Squeeze the other quarter over the salmon (scale side up)
13. Add rocket to plate
14. Check potatoes, if look slightly brown/ dark orange then take out (should still be bright orange in the middle) and add to rocket
15. Check salmon is cooked all the way through (light pink)
16. Take salmon of heat and add to plate
17. Done
18. Bring into work to receive much praise and adoration from boss and promise of money waiting for him next week

Maxi getting some sleep!

I'm so, so, so looking forward to catching up with Maxi Jazz from Faithless on my radio show tonight.  Faithless have been such an influence to many dance producers and clubbers and they have remained at the top of the business for over a decade!  Quite an achievement.  The new album sounds wonderful and I've been a big supporter of the new single 'Not Going Home' on the radio show for weeks now.

:: Easter-good, Easter-good, he's Eben-Easter-good! ::

So good to have a long weekend.  We all need it don't we?  I love doing the show on Bank Holiday weekends.  There's always even more action and audience involvement than usual and the vibe in town is always electric.  Love it!

:: Feels Like Thunder In My Windmill ::

A jam-packed show again this week, with a stack of lovely new tunes, a couple of exclusives and a fabulous guest!  Regular's will most definately have heard of MECK, mainly for his 2006 UK chart hit 'Thunder In My Heart' - which cleverly re-worked a Leo Sayer track from the 70's.  This time his new production is a release that sees one of the most famous female pop artists ever supply the vocals.  Madonna!

The track is actually a re-working of Meck's 'Feels Like Home' with its brilliant original vocal by longterm collaborator Dino.  The track was then mashed up with Madonna's vocals and made famous by her on her 2008 'Sticky & Sweet' tour.  It's now re-worked for 2010 and sees an official release with Toolroom Records.  It's going to be great to here the inside info on how it all happened from Meck later on in the show.

This week is proving to be a mega-one. Not only have I got to sort through a stack of awesome new tunes for the weekend, I've got to finish two productions that are going to be zinging their way to the Miami Winter Music Conference.

For those that have been asking about the Mixbuster vs. ABC track I've produced and been smashing everywhere, it's sparked some interest and will be part of the Miami promo pack. Unfortunately though, I reckon the sample clearance could be an issue again!  I'll let ya know.

Friday night on FIRE sees me finally catch up with MECK. With a fantastic release (at last!) of his 'Feels Like A Prayer' he's on the show Friday night to talk about sampling Madonna, his plans for the Summer and of course his tunes.

And finally, do check out the vibe on Bournemouth's newest and hottest radio station base radio.  This weekend features guest mixes from Dave Spoon, redBOX and local lad Lee Marvel.
