It seems to have taken forever to get to Friday again! At last we're here and I can share the love of house and spin some quality new tunes across the FIRE airwaves and the internet stream. Quite a progressive vibe for tonight's show, plus a great special guest and a competition to win Royksopp's new album thrown in for good measure.

Toolroom Knights is currently one of the best clubbing sessions available - but not currently in Bournemouth!? The label was created by top DJ/Producer Mark Knight and accompanied by his brilliant team of tune champions they have been delivering some epic releases and terrific compilations for a while now. Tonight is my last Pure Fire show on a Tuesday night. After a small break I'll be back to do my thing each and every Friday night for the 'big one', to really smash up the FIRE airwaves with quality house, electro, beats, bleeps, bootlegs and special guests. A great opportunity to share the tunes and the love of house and the love of beats.

For tonight's last show I've got the usual stack of upfront material and hot tunes for you to digest. I'll also be catching up with young gun, James Herkes, who is taking over the Tuesday night slot and is going to be absolutely fantastic! Trust me.

Chris Lake & the tower where he stores his immense talent!

Another show jammed with hot new tracks and cheeky remixes. I kicked off with the latest tune from the supremely talented Chris Lake. This brilliant track shows shades of 'Change', but is also a more developed song with his signature piano sound. I recently watched a video of Chris making this tune and learnt the secrets of how he created the mighty bass sound. Awesome!

A welcome return tonight for G Club 'Guittara', re-worked by Funkagenda. Amazing feedback for this as well as the Marilyn Manson bootleg - so thank you for all the text's, emails and phonecalls. I really don't know what to say about the return of 'Guittara' with Funkagenda at the helm, apart from I know I'm just not going to tire of listening to it - or playing it. Fantastic stuff!

The guest mix tonight saw us re-visit the Freemasons Mix from last year - so a quality way to wind up the evening session.

Missy E: Cop that bootleg!

I started this week's show off with an 'official' bootleg from the record company, that they are using to promote the brilliant Rudenko, a track I've been pushing for a while now.  Adding Missy E's rap sure gives this tune extra pace although it's a fantastic release in standard from from the brilliant team at Data.  If only they'd taken my bootleg for the release.  Sulk :-(

So, I sneaked my own bootie in as the second tune (well you would wouldn't you) before getting underway with the show proper.  Some great tunes and feedback this week, so thanks if you took the time to text the studio, phone, or badger me via the net.

I took the opportunity to re-visit some of the tunes from the last month mainly due to the positive feedback received when I've spun them. Strong remixes from Vandalism, Laidback Luke and the fantastic Wolfgang Gartner dominated the line up and it's clear that fans of the show are feeling that 'Dirty House' vibe.

Laidback Luke: Move the house...

There's not much wrong in the world when you get to play amazing tunes, on a great radio station, for lovely people! Plus, I get to chat to talented superstar DJ's such as Laidback Luke.

I had Luke on the show last summer, where he was in the middle of a gruelling schedule of DJ dates, remix duties and bootleg creation. 6 months later we are eagerly waiting his arrival to play at 2020 Rocks in Bournemouth this coming Friday 23rd, so it was a perfect chance to catch up and here about forthcoming projects. Not that he gave much away!

Out of our chat, I was very pleased to hear that 'Show Be/Me Love' is due out in March (has the momentum been lost?) and more importantly his fabulous bootleg of The Korgis will see an official release in 09. Brilliant! Will he be teaming up with Timbaland? Well something big is going on...... that was all he was prepared to divulge.

My last Pure Fire show of 08 and a chance to review some of the big club tunes as well as preview some future classics. A great line-up of top dance music producers on tonight's show, with new material from Kurd Maverick headlining the pack. The top German DJ has finally got his re-working of the New Order classic 'Blue Monday' set for release on Data. Nice one. The package includes a stonking Vandalism Remix as well as his original bootleg version. My personal favourite is the original studio mix so it was great to feature that on the show tonight. It's gonna be big!

The love continues for Sander's new effort, which sees him sample Robbie Williams. Yep, it's really Robbie! My fave tune still remains the Markus Gardeweg track, but is now clearly given a run for its money with the latest brilliant release from Data - the floor mashing Rudenko 'Everybody'. This tune will really take off.

We stayed on the Data records vibe for our guest mix, which saw a replay of a fantastic megamix from the gang at Data and a mini-mix from Fonzerelli. Quality tunes for a Tuesday night as always.

:: Final Departure ::

Ken Sinfield (2 November 1932 - 12th November 2008)

My thanks to everyone for your kind words and cards of sympathy over this past week.  My Dad was clearly well loved and highly regarded amongst all that knew him.  After his battle with Alzheimers, which can never be won, he died peacefully last Wednesday with a legacy of love, laughs and daft stories.

I hope that his condition meant he knew nothing about his final few weeks and that he's now walking the dog, catching up with his Father, and finally getting to know his Mother.

Love you Dad.

:: Pure Quality ::

A return to the FIRE airwaves last night after my brief escape. I plowed my way through the tunes last night, in a bid to bring you a cross section of upfront house and electro tunes, plus some quality vocal house and cheeky bootlegs. A stack of texts and calls to the studio throughout the evening kept me very busy. Thanks for getting involved.

On Air with the 'Wheels Of Plastic'!

Just after 9pm I featured a new Mixbuster creation - where I've just ripped up Nirvana's 'Smells Like Teen Spirit' into a dirty piece of electro nonsense. Not the first person to do this I know, but it needed a spin. Alongside this was the absolutely brilliant 'Electro Sandman' by Dunproofin' - a purveyor of mighty find mash-ups and mixes and a huge, huge talent! Check his blog out here.

Jason Herd, a guest on the show a few weeks ago, supplied the guest mix @ 10pm, which provided a quality end to the evening session on FIRE107.6FM.

:: Knight night! ::

A great response as always for the tunage on last night's show. Thanks for your feedback. The highlight of course was my very special guest, DJ/Producer and record label boss Mark Knight. Mark will be celebrating the 2nd birthday of Toolroom Knights at the Ministry Of Sound, London this coming Saturday (11th Oct). A massive session is planned to celebrate his fantastic year and the launch of his current Toolroom Knights album - of which we gave away a signed copy!

Mark chatted about some new projects as well as enjoying the recognition he's had for his cover of the Laurent Garnier classic 'Man With A Red Face' that he released with Funkagenda - which has just been voted as Ibiza's number one track for 2008 in the recent DJ Awards.

:: Lazy Like Sunday Morning ::

Lazy afternoons only come second to lazy Sunday mornings. I don't know about you, but there's nothing better than a very slow and lazy start to a Sunday. Maybe read the papers, a bit of soft tunage on the stereo and a croissant or two, all accompanied by a few espressos.

No snooze time for me this Sunday, as I'm in for Daniel 'BH' Baker this weekend, covering his breakfast show on FIRE 107.6FM. I'll hopefully get a coffee in, and maybe a bacon bap (or two - ahem!), but I won't be sound asleep like this lucky old dawg!
